Grow in the GospelOur primary tool for growing men in the Gospel is “D Groups” (discipleship groups) – D groups are forming all the time. Most groups meet Fridays mornings at 6am in the theater. We begin with an opening designed to encourage, exhort, or entertain men. Then men break into assigned small groups for a variety of studies designed to move men toward maturity. Our Goals for Growing in the gospel:
How do you join a “D- Group”? Read the group descriptions below and then call or Email Pastor Rick Trautman and let him know which study interests you? Man Alive - is an 8 week study requiring very little or no homework. Each chapter can be read in 10-15 minutes. Some groups may choose to read the chapter together of Friday mornings. The key to the studies impact comes from group discussion regarding the application of the principles in each chapter. Chapters tackle questions that are common among men such as: "I don't feel God cares about me, not really" or "I don't feel like I'm doing anything that will make a lasting difference.” Warrior - A 9 week study recounting stories of real men dealing with real life struggles and revealing how God has solutions. This course is designed to equip men with essential skills to fight and win in the battles of life. - Approximately 30 or 40 minutes of prep time throughout your week. The key to the study’s impact comes from bible memory and group discussion centered on the application of the principles in each chapter. Disciple - 1-2 hours of prep time during the week. Each week contains a core truth, inductive bible study, memory verse with study questions, and a teaching on the topic. This study is a tool designed to help men follow the pattern Jesus drew for us. Working through this 24 week study will help deepen your knowledge of the essential Christian teaching and strengthen your faith. Proclaim Christ in ServiceThe Maturing follower seeks to live out their faith not because they have to, but because they overflow!. Just as an overflowing pitcher spills out all over, so too will the impact of those proclaiming Christ. Opportunity abounds: Parking lot ministry, WAV (Westover Audio/visual), Children’s ministry, Youth Ministry, Ginger’s List, Faithworks, Leading Men’s “D” groups, facilitating life communities, the opportunities to PROCLAIM are endless.
