Online Giving Frequently Asked Questions

When is Westover changing online giving and payment services?
The change to online giving will occurred on February 24th. Online giving and online registrations will be back online February 26th. After this, you will have to set up a new online giving payment through our new service.

Why is Westover making this change?
Our church database system (ACS) has new and better features that allow us to better integrate our online services. Soon, you will be able to find and join a small group, learn how to serve in ministry and be able to find and register for Bible studies using this new system. Changing our online payment and donation service is an important first step.

What will happen to my current online payments?
Your current online payment will be cancelled automatically. You don't have to do anything to modify your donations after February 24th.

What about my January and February donations?
All recurring donations you have scheduled to Westover using our online services will still be proceessed up until February 24th. Only donations scheduled for after the 24th will be cancelled.

Will my payment history still be available?
All donations that you have made using our previous service will be reflected in your account up until February 24 of this year. This includes any donations made prior to that date. All records of your online donations are kept by the church office. Records of your online donations are also kept on the system used to make those donations. It is only those records kept by the online service that will not be available after the 24th. The will still be available at our office. Why should I give online?
Giving online has many benefits including It is quick and convenient.

  • You can give from the privacy of your own home, where it is only you and God.
  • It frees you to focus more on worship during Sunday services. There is no need to quickly write a check while the plates are passed.
  • It makes it easier for Westover to account for your donations.
  • It allows staff and volunteers to focus more on ministry and less on accounting.

Where does the money go?
The money you donate goes directly to the fund you designate on the donation page. You can also split your donation over multiple funds.

Is my information secure?
Westover takes the security and privacy of your information very seriously. All steps have been taken to ensure that your information is protected during your transaction. Your session is encrypted using industry standard protocols and techniques, so you can be assured that your information is protected.

What is ACS and why am I sent to their site?
Westover uses a payment processing provider called ACS to process our online donations and payments. This has many benefits including lower processing costs and greater security for your information. This allows us to accept online donations at a lower total cost so we can use more of your donation for ministries at Westover Church. Can I make recurring donations?
Your donations can be one-time or recurring, whichever you choose. If you choose to make recurring donations, you will be able to manage your giving profile through your ACS account.

Will you use this information to contact me?
Westover will only use the information provided on the donation form if a problem arises with your donation. Otherwise, we will never use this information to contact you about Westover events or ministry opportunities.

What if I want to make non-cash contributions?
If you wish to donate non-cash items such as stock certificates, automobiles or other personal property, please e-mail Mike Kennedy or call the church office at (336) 299-7374.
