Meals@GraceOn the 2nd Wednesday of each month, Westover Church partners with Grace Community Church, serving the community through a Worship/Outreach service and meal. This ministry is named “Meals@Grace” in Westover Church lingo and “Wednesday Community Fellowship” in Grace Community Church lingo. Above all, Meals@Grace is totally an act of love and ALL about Jesus Christ. We want to make sure that all volunteers know this is not a “soup kitchen” or a good “service project” - that our goal is to reach out to others in the name of Jesus and draw them to HIM and His love. Our “guests” range from people who are chronically homeless due to substance abuse or mental illness to hard-working people who have fallen on difficult times. Because of Meals@Grace many attendees leave with a full heart and a full stomach.Westover Church is responsible for providing food and volunteers to serve/clean up. Average attendance is approximately 200 people. We assemble for prayer with the Grace volunteers and then break off to prepare the plates while Grace members conduct the praise service. Plates are prepared in an “assembly line” fashion and then taken out on trays and served to the guests at their tables. Next, we bring out a dessert in the same manner and shortly thereafter proceed with cleanup. Want to get connected? Contact Wes Ward at 299-7374 x3044 or e-mail WWard@WestoverChurch.com. |
