Our Purpose

To develop mature followers of Jesus Christ.

"Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ." - Colossians 1:28

Our Vision

Westover exists to develop mature followers of Jesus Christ. We seek to do this by being a people who grow in the Gospel, connect in biblical community, and serve on mission.

We believe that connecting in community and serving on mission are not separate from growing in the Gospel, but integral to it. The Gospel drives us to community and mission.

Vision Statements

Westover Church is God's Church and in seeking God's heart for our future, we prayerfully ask for God's leading and enabling for the vision He has given us. As we look to the future, these three statements describe the church God desires us to become.

GROW in the Gospel

Westover desires to be a church where the Gospel is of first importance, and our central message is the good news, centers on Jesus who changes everything.

CONNECT in Biblical Community

Westover desires to be a Christ-centered community reflecting God's design for unity, resulting in loving, caring and accountable relationships among all of God's people.

SERVE on Mission

Westover desires to be a church that disciples, equips, and encourages believers to sacrificially serve and live on mission so that others may come to the saving knowledge of Christ.

As we seek to be a people living out GROW, CONNECT, and SERVE...

We desire to equip the church for evangelism and discipleship.
  • We believe that relational, invitational, and encounter evangelism and life-on-life discipleship are effective strategiesfor equipping God's people.
We desire to grow younger.
  • Our church is called to love and minister to people of all ages. We must reach the next generation for Christ.
We desire to better reflect the ethnic & economic diversity of our community.
  • As Jesus loves us, we are commanded to love one another, so all people will know we are His disciples.
We desire to engage in Christ-centered racial reconciliation.
  • We desire for the world to see how we bear witness to Christ and the coming Kingdom of God by the way in which we love one another in Christ and show that love to both our community and the world around us.
