Local Missions

Local Missions

Overview

From the Neighborhood to the Nations

Compelled by the love of Christ, we are called to live missionally as Ambassadors of Christ, sharing God’s reconciling love to the world around us in practical ways (2 Corinthians 5:14-21).  The purpose of Westover Local Missions is to mobilize our church body to live on-mission - a ‘sent’ people to be a faithful presence of the Gospel in our neighborhoods, city and surrounding communities.

For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died...Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  2 Corinthians 5:14, 20

Serve Locally

The People Helping People Fund

Westover Church's People Helping People (PHP) fund serves two purposes: (1) to help meet financial, physical and spiritual needs of individuals and families attending Westover Church, as well as neighbors in need in our community, who are in need of emergency assistance; and (2) to provide generous support to local ministry partners and non-profit organizations who are faithfully serving our community. PHP is how Westover Local Missions invests in our community in order to support and further the holistic work of the Gospel.

PHP Collection & Distribution

On the last Sunday of each month during worship services, congregants are invited to worship God by giving to the PHP Offering, which is collected in addition to the regular offering.

Online gifts to PHP can be made HERE, and by selecting “People Helping People” under Fund.
