Associate (Community Life, Care & Support, Prayer Ministries)

About the Opportunity:

Scope

The Associate of Community Life, Care & Support, and Prayer will serve the Body of Westover by providing support for all aspects of the role within the ministries, while also contributing to other work-related activities as needed. The Associate is supported by the Director of Community Life with lateral support from the Care & Support/Prayer Director and the Associate Pastor. 

Administrative – 65%                                        

  • Providing the following elements of support: facility scheduling, email/phone responses, promotion/communication of ministries & events (via Click-Up, etc.), registration set up/coordination, handouts, manage and update involvements/rosters in the database, meetings/training set up & assistance, etc. for:  
    • Life Communities
    • Small Groups
    • Care & Support
    • Prayer
    • Shepherding/Care of the Body
  • Prepare expense reports for Pastors/Directors; track/document expenses for assigned ministry areas.
  • Assist leadership with periodic assigned projects (Church-wide sermon series, etc.) as requested.
  • Help to coordinate small group events (approx. 2x/year)
  • Provide the Associate Pastor with administrative support as needed.

Ministry/Lay Leader Support – 25%                     

  • Supports lay ministry leaders, enabling them to serve the body for:
    • Life Communities
    • Small Groups
    • Care & Support
    • Prayer 
  • Must be prepared to assist with funerals, which may occur with little notice.

Team Contributions – 10%                                           

  • Meet regularly with Directors to receive feedback, and updates and provide contributions to action planning for ministry team goals. 
  • Attending regularly scheduled All-Staff Meetings.

Requirements:

Ideal Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, Ministry, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years in an administrative role.
  • Experience in managing or coordinating small groups or community life programs.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and church management systems (e.g., Click-Up, Planning Center, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with staff, volunteers, and congregation members.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate support and care.
  • Experience in training and supporting lay leaders.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate events and programs.
  • Adaptability to support various ministry activities and special projects as needed.
  • A strong, active Christian faith with a commitment to the mission and values of Westover.
  • Experience in prayer ministry and providing spiritual care.
  • Will need to attend Westover Church and become a member.
