About us

Westover Church is actively seeking a passionate individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Associate in the Westover Kids ministry. We are a vibrant team committed to providing a nurturing environment for children's spiritual growth.

About the role

The Early Childhood Associate in the Westover Kids ministry will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating activities for nursery and preschool-aged children. This part-time position, (averaging 20 hours per week) requires someone with excellent organizational skills, a heart for children's ministry, as well as the ability to lead various projects, events, and volunteer teams within the dedicated ministry area. This role will report directly to the Children's Director.

Primary individual responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate Early Childhood programming for Sunday mornings.
  • Recruit, train, and equip Sunday team members.
  • Manage team member care, support, and appreciation.
  • Coordinate regular communication with parents and team members.

Primary team responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with Children’s Director to provide feedback, updates, and contributions to action planning for ministry team goals.
  • Meet regularly with Early Childhood leadership team and team members to care for and encourage them as a team and as individuals.
  • Attend weekly Westover Kids meetings and monthly all-staff meetings, serving as a liaison between Early Childhood and Westover staff, Elders, and Deacons.
  • Collaborate with Westover Kid’s staff regarding Promotion Sunday preparations, family events, summer camps, and weekly email communications to parents.
  • Collaborate with Westover Kids Care Coordinator and MOPS Childcare Coordinator on Early Childhood policies, and any related Early Childhood concerns.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in children’s ministry, preferably in a leadership position.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Outlook and all Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, highly developed interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, and ability to train and facilitate classes.
  • Skilled at resource and project management.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
