Serve at Westover

At Westover Church, serving others is central to who we are and what we do. Here, you’ll find opportunities to share your gifts—whether it’s teaching, hospitality, outreach, or the creative arts—and make a real impact within our church and community. Below are all the areas that we currently need help in. If you are interested in anything or would like to learn more, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
Welcoming Ministries
Our Welcoming Ministry is a really fun way to serve at Westover. It is the goal of the Welcoming Ministry to joyfully greet and serve the body of Westover and our guests.

Coffee and Hospitality Team

Team members arrive early Sunday mornings to prepare coffee for each of our serving stations including the upstairs Main Lobby, and Cafe. They also provide a touch of hospitality to our classes and worship services. These dedicated and passionate teams provide a needed and much-appreciated "behind-the-scenes" ministry to the people of Westover.

Connection Team

This team contacts all our first-time guests to welcome them to our church. They are equipped with ways our guests can connect with the body and are available to answer any questions our guests may have.

Discover Westover Team

This team attends our monthly Discover Westover classes that are designed to help those who are new to Westover to learn more about our church and to connect them to relevant ministries. This is a great way to meet and welcome those who are new to Westover as well as those interested in getting more involved.

First-Time Guests Team

This  team  greets  and  guides  our  first-time  guests  from  the  Welcome  Tent  and  Welcome  Centers  to  their  best  destination.  This is  done  with  a  warm  smile  and  friendly  conversation,  along  with  offering  them  a  quick  Westover  orientation  and  gift  bag. This  team  has  a  heart  for  the  local  church,  a  love  for  Westover,  and  is  passionate  about  hospitality  and  connecting  people  to the various ministries of  the church.

Greeter Team

Our Greeters help fulfill the purpose and vision of Westover by offering a friendly greeting and any additional assistance needed to all those entering our doors. Quite possibly one of the most fun and best-kept secrets of serving at Westover, our Greeters are ready to hold a door, offer a smile, and welcome all to Westover!

Parking Team

The Parking Team is a crew which arrives early each Sunday to prepare the parking lots for traffic and offer prayer for our church and guests. They serve the body of Christ at Westover by providing safe directions for all who enter our parking lots. This fun team is usually the first to offer a welcoming greeting to each of our guests and members, rain or shine.

Ushering Team

Our Ushering Team assists all who enter the Worship Center. They offer a warm greeting and information, provide seating guidance, and assist with many other service needs.

Hub Team

The volunteers at the Hub equipped and ready to answer questions, helping guests and attendees alike discover what opportunities are available for connecting to life and ministry at Westover. The Hub is located directly outside the main doors to the Worship Center.

Westover Audio/Visual (WAV) Ministries
We are looking for volunteers who have experience in an a mature or a professional production environment or those people who enjoy tinkering with or operating electronic or audio/video equipment or computers and are wiling to put in the time and effort that it takes to become proficient at a position on the WAV team.

Once we have reviewed your application, we will contact you by phone or e-mail. We will then setup a time for you to begin your apprenticeship with a member of our team. You will be paired with an experience volunteer on Sunday mornings or a Wednesday night rehearsal for hands-on training in a mentoring relationship. This provides you the opportunity to learn in a one-on-one environment and allows us to evaluate your progress. This period can take from one to six months depending on the knowledge required for the specific skill. When you complete your training, you will be assigned to an area of the WAV team and assigned to a regular rotation schedule. You will be expected to commit to one year of service with our team.

The Sunday morning time commitment is from rehearsal at 8:15 am through the final service. Call time for our volunteer techs is 8:00 am on Sunday mornings. Some positions, including audio and lighting, require set-up time during the week in addition to Sunday. The minimum we ask volunteers to serve is two Sundays in a row and then off for the following four consecutive Sundays. We run a year-long volunteer rotation and ask that volunteers commit to at least a year with the option of renewing your commitment every year if you wish to remain on the team.

Middle School
Middle School Small Group Leader

We believe that the best way to encourage our middle school students towards an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ is through genuine conversation and relationships built within a small group context. If you feel led, we hope you would consider serving our middle school students as a small group leader.

A small group leader volunteers their time during our Impact meetings on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings. During this time, small group leaders facilitate thoughtful discussion with their group around the topic being addressed that week.

A key component of this role would be a willingness to build relationships with students. Our volunteer leaders are asked to give of their time and energy but in doing so, are blessed to witness the fruit of students’ spiritual growth.
High School
High School Fuse Service Volunteers

We believe that the best way to help our high school students grow in the gospel is through participation at our large group gathering called Fuse.

A Fuse service leader volunteers their time on Wednesday evenings. During this time, Fuse leaders build relationships with students. These leaders also help to welcome new guests and to help our programming staff execute our Fuse services.

High School Small Group Leaders

We believe that the best way to encourage our high school students towards an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ is through genuine conversation and relationships built within a small group format. If you feel led, we hope you would consider serving our high school students as a small group leader.

During small group, our leaders facilitate thoughtful discussion with their groups as well as build a safe place for students to ask questions. We also love for our small group leaders to join our students at Fuse on Wednesday evenings to help build those relationships.

A key component of this role would be a willingness to build relationships with students. Our small group leaders are asked to give of their time and energy but in doing so, are blessed to witness the spiritual growth of students in their groups.

High School Student Volunteers

We believe that the best way to become mature followers of Jesus Christ is to serve on mission. We encourage our students to serve within their faith community at Fuse. There are many opportunities for our students, such as welcoming new students, serving on the worship team, or even running the technology at Fuse that keeps our services running.

Students serve on rotation so that they can continue to be a part of the Fuse community on off-weeks. We have three main areas where our students can serve:

Worship: Our services include student-led worship. Whether a student can sing or play an instrument, we would be interested in getting them involved in our services.

Production Team: Our production team runs our services. From being the hosts of the evening on-stage to running sound and technology, our production team makes our services happen.

Welcoming: Each Wednesday night we have new students visit Fuse who have never experienced a Fuse service before. Our welcoming team is the first to greet them. Our welcoming team makes sure that our new guests know where to go and what to do for the night.
