Faith Promise
Faith-promise, simply defined, is a commitment that I make to the Lord (that’s the “promise” part) to give to the Lord something that I’ve yet to see Him provide (that’s the “faith” part).
To explain further: the principle of faith-promise giving is outlined in God’s Word where we read the example of the Macedonian churches that gave “as much as they were able and even beyond their ability” (2 Corinthians 8:1-3). Applying that principle to my giving, I would give as much as I am able to Westover Church and God’s work around the world.
But, applying that verse further, I should also look to God in faith trusting He will provide unexpectedly “beyond my ability” to know in advance. The “faith promise” that I make then, says that, when He does provide, I will take that as His blessing and look to give back to Him in whole or part of what He has given.
Faith Promise cards will be collected on November 17, but you can mail your card: Westover Church, Attn: Lori Lewey, 505 Muirs Chapel Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410 through December 31. You can also fill out an online Faith Promise Card HERE through December 31.
